COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer Saturday said he has suspended defensive back Bradley Roby for one game, the season opener against the University of Buffalo.
Meyer's action comes a day after charges against Roby stemming from a bar fight in Bloomington, Indiana were reduced to a class-b misdemeanor.
Also Saturday, Meyer said junior running back Rod Smith will sit out the Buffalo game as well for an off-season disciplinary issue.
The Buckeyes are ranked No. 2 behind Alabama in the first AP poll released Saturday.
Rounding out the top 5 are Oregon, Stanford and Georgia.
Other Big Ten teams in the top 25 include Michigan at No. 17, Nebraska at No.18, Northwestern at No. 22 and No. 23 Wisconsin.
