It's shaping up to be a busy year for the Columbus City Schools.
In his annual State of the District address Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Daniel Good talked about a five-year building repair program. "Operation Fix It" will be paid for with $125-million in bonds approved by voters last year.
Good also talked about plans to hire close to 300 additional teachers and staffers, an investment in more safety personnel, as well as specialized safety training for every school staffer.
The budget includes a new app for parents that will tell them not only whether their child made it to school, but how their son or daughter is doing in class.
