Buckeyes Will Be Well Represented At NFL Combine

Once again, Ohio State will be well represented at the upcoming NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Eight Ohio State products have been invited, the fifth most of any college football program this year.

The eight invitees are receiver Noah Brown, defensive backs Gareon Conley and Marshon Lattimore, safety Malik Hooker, center Pat Elflien, punter Cam Johnston, linebacker Raekwon McMillan and H-Back Curtis Samuel. A total of 330 players were invited to the combine which runs from February 28-March 6 in Indianapolis.

Last year, Ohio State was number one nationally in terms of players invited to the combine with 14. That number was matched by this year's top school.

That's right...Michigan, with 14 players invited is this year's top school at the combine, followed by Alabama and LSU with 10 players each and then national champion Clemson with nine.

Of the Buckeyes invited the player with the highest draft stock, according to most experts, is Lattimore. ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. put out his latest mock draft on Wednesday and had Lattimore going fifth overall to Tennessee.

The other highly rated Buckeye according to Kiper is Hooker. He is listed by Kiper as going No. 7 overall to the L.A. Chargers. If that were to happen, they might want to rename the relocated team the L.A. Buckeyes. Last year, Joey Bosa and Josh Perry were picked by the Chargers. Bosa had a huge year, winning the NFL's defensive rookie of the year award.

Since Urban Meyer became Ohio State's head coach, a parade of Buckeyes have been invited to the combine. With the eight going this year, a total of 39 Buckeyes have been combine invitees in Meyer's five years as head coach.
