GAHANNA, Ohio (WTVN) -- Funeral services are planned for Wednesday for John Carney of Gahanna who died in a skiing accident last week.
According to the Richland County Sheriff's Office, Carney, 59, was traveling down a slope at Snow Trails Ski Resort in Mansfield Friday afternoon when he swerved to avoid hitting others traveling on the same path. That sent him off the trail and into a steel ski-lift pole.
Carney had skied for decades and once served as a ski instructor.
