Abercrombie and Fitch closing more stores

NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WTVN)--Abercrombie & Fitch is closing dozens more stores in 2017, amid falling sales numbers.

The New Albany-based retailer says the new round of 60 closings announced today will reduce the apparel retailer's footprint to about 670 locations nationwide.

The company blamed the cuts on lower profit margins and weak shopper traffic. They released their  numbers from the 4th quarter of 2016 on Thursday, which fell short of their expectations.

A&F closed more than 50 stores last year.

Their recently re-branded store just opened at Polaris Fashion Place. It aims to target a different demographic with more open spaces and less head-thumping dance music.
