Clerk shoots would-be robber in southwest Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- A clerk at a gas station in southwest Columbus surprised a would-be robber with a gun of his own.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says the suspect pulled a gun when he walked into the Sunoco station on Norton Road in Darbydale late Thursday night.

The clerk also had a gun, pulled it out and fired.

The Sheriff's office says the suspect checked himself into Doctors Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand.
