Saturation patrols planned for St. Patty's day revelers

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- As you enjoy your St. Patrick's Day celebration, know that the Franklin County DUI Task Force will be out, searching for drunk drivers.

Officers plan to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints around central Ohio, aimed at encouraging seat belt usage, decreasing impaired/distracted driving, and enforcing Ohio’s traffic safety laws

If you're planning to drink, the Task Force hopes you plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements.

Figures from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office show that, through March 6,  138 people lost their lives in traffic accidents statewide.  That's six fewer than the same time last year.
