Columbus Group Claims Trump, GOP are Sabotaging Health Care

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Protect our care. StandUpToSabotage.com. Those are the words on signs displayed during a gathering outside Columbus City Hall, on the South Plaza, Thursday afternoon.

The main speaker to present messages against President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans' efforts to 'repeal and replace' the Affordable Care Act was Columbus City Council Member Elizabeth Brown, a Democrat.

"Republicans in Congress, ever since the pass of ACA, have only been interested in repeal votes, which is not productive, and never coming to the table with bipartisan ways to improve the law," Brown said.

Ms. Brown, the daughter of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, accuses Republicans of working to repeal important pieces of the Affordable Care Act, or 'Obamacare'. She says that's why the GOP efforts have failed.

"What the President is doing is sabotage. He knows what Americans think of the Affordable Care Act. I'm not talking about what his 30% base. I'm talking about Americans."

Representatives from Planned Parenthood, a registered nurse, and a legislative aide to a statehouse Democratic lawmaker also delivered some comments.
