Barrett, Buckeyes Win Thriller Over Penn State

Ohio State rallied from an 18-point first half deficit and from 11 down in the final five minutes to hand No. 2 Penn State its first loss, 39-38 on Saturday.

J.T Barrett was spectacular for Ohio State, completing his final 16 passes and finishing 33 for 39 for 328 yards and four touchdown passes. The last of those four was a 16-yard strike to tight end Marcus Baugh with 1:48 to play to cap off an incredible comeback.

It was the Buckeyes (7-1, 5-0 Big Ten) first lead of the game. They trailed from the very opening kickoff which was returned 97-yards for a touchdown by Penn State Heisman Trophy candidate Saquon Barkley. The Nittany Lions had leads of 21-3 and 28-10 in the first half, and led 38-27 with 5:42 to go before Barrett took over. His TD pass to Johnnie Dixon from 10-yards out with 3:20 left pulled Ohio State to within a score. After the defense forced Penn State three-and-out, Barrett engineered the game winning 5-play 58-yard drive capped off by the winning throw to Baugh.

Barrett also ran for 95 yards on 17 carries, including earning a first down in the final minute after another defensive stop to seal the game.

The Buckeyes now head to Iowa next Saturday. Check out some of the highlights from this thriller and hear Urban Meyer's comments below.
