Holtmann's Buckeyes Prep For Spain

Buckeye basketball coach Chris Holtmann has a very busy summer. He is not only traveling across the country recruiting but he is also preparing to take his Ohio State Buckeyes on a summer basketball trip to Spain next month. The Buckeyes are allowed 10 practices prior to the trip when they will not only play some exhibition games but get a chance to tour the country a little.

Holtmann took time out of his busy schedule to join us on "The Drive" on 105.7, The Zone on Tuesday. In addition to talking about the trip, I discussed the upcoming "The Basketball Tournament" featuring the OSU alumni "Scarlet and Gray" team, recruiting, Keita Bates-Diop's second round NBA draft selection by Minnesota and more.

The Buckeyes last week picked up a verbal commitment from point-guard DJ Carton out of Iowa. He's ranked among the best point guards in the 2019 class. Per NCAA rules, I can't ask specifically about Carton--he can't discuss him until he's signed--but I did get Holtmann's thoughts on the recruiting momentum of the program.
