$250,000 Bond for Man Accused of Impersonating Police Officer

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The man accused of impersonating a police officer has been ordered held on $250-thousand dollars bond.

Randall Tharp made an initial court appearance Monday, following his arrest Sunday. 

He attempted to get a woman into his car by saying he was a police officer, going so far as to wear a bulletproof vest, and a hat with POLICE on it. The woman, who was confronted in East Columbus, got suspicious when Tharp failed to produce a badge, and fled.

He remains in the Franklin County Jail.

Tharp has a history of suspicious behavior, with a prison sentence on his record for kidnapping.

His next court appearance is set for November 13th.
