UNDATED (WTVN)--A new report from reporter Brett McMurphy, of Stadium Sports, alleges that Ohio State Football Coach Urban Meyer tried to cover-up the use of a racial slur by a now-former assistant coach.
The incident in question happened during a practice in September of 2017, and involved then-Wide Receivers Coach Zach Smith and Trevon Grimes, a Wide Receiver.
Grimes's father tells Stadium Sports that Trevon said Smith used the n-word during a confrontation, ultimately leading to his transfer to the University of Florida.
Many current and former players who witnessed the incident deny the use of a racial slur. Ohio State Athletics Director Gene Smith also acknowledged that a confrontation occurred, but there was said there was no use of a racial slur.
Ohio State also conducted an investigation, saying there was no corroboration of the use of a racial slur in the confrontation.
Zach Smith was fired by Meyer in July of this year, due to the alleged domestic abuse allegations between Zach and his now-ex wife, Courtney Smith.
Meyer was also suspended for three games for his alleged knowledge of the situation.
