Columbus Reaches Settlement on 2015 House Explosion

COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--The City of Columbus is agreeing to pay a settlement in regards to a suit filed over a house that exploded after it filled with gas over three years ago.

In March of 2015, a home on Sunningdale Way was destroyed after it filled with gas after an old line was mismarked.

Officials with the City Attorney's Office told City Council last night that an agreement had been reached between Columbus and the 36-plaintiffs involved in the case.

The city will pay nearly 650-thousand dollars to be divided among the plaintiffs including over 200-thousand to the owners of the home that exploded.
