COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Kroger announced it has closed its Bakery in Columbus, affecting hundreds of workers.
The company made the announcement, citing an ongoing assessment of the facility, and its outdated layout and equipment.
Over 400 employees are affected, and each will get 60-days pay, based on the union's collective bargaining agreement.
The company is also offering affected workers workforce training, and an opportunity to apply for other positions within the company.
Kroger says it will take between 60 and 90 days for the facility to be decommissioned, and the property will then be sold.
Kroger also said it has no other plans to close any other facilities in their network.
