COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio Senate has approved a measure that removes the sales tax for feminine hygiene products in the state, otherwise known as the "pink tax."
The move is a concurrence with a measure that was previously approved by the Ohio House, and is now awaiting a signature from Governor Mike DeWine before becoming law.
The bill repeals the sales tax on items like tampons, and other items, which advocates say is unfair for women to pay, when men don't use them.
The bill would also give a tax credit to teachers who spend their own money on school supplies.
