Two Shot, One Dead in Upper Arlington During Trick-or-Treat

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WTVN)--Two people were shot, with one of them dead, in Upper Arlington Thursday evening, with the scene unfolding right in the middle of Trick-or-Treat.

Police did take a suspect into custody from the incident along Colchester Road, near Fishinger.

With the scene unfolding as parents and children were out begging for goodies, the SWAT team was brought in to cordon off the area, and it was not an elaborate Halloween decoration.

Police later identified the suspect as 31-year-old Kristin Roth, and she shot her parents, leaving her father, James Roth, dead, and her mother, Elizabeth Roth, in the hospital. The incident happened at the parents' home.

Police are also working to reassure the public that the community is safe.
