Columbus Police Department Implements Exposure Mitigation Plan

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--With one of their own testing positive for Coronavirus, The Columbus Police Department has implemented a new plan for employees to help prevent its spread in the community and the department.

Police Chief Thomas Quinlan says beginning on Sunday, the CPD implemented its Exposure Mitigation Plan, where employees work from home one day a week, and are available to be called into the field if needed.

On Saturday, an officer who does not work patrol tested positive for COVID-19, and is now self-quarantined.

Quinlan says the plan is effective and cost-neutral. The department also implemented new policies with regard to social distancing and contacts with the community.
