Two Former Governors to Lead Ohio COVID-19 Testing Strike Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Dr. Amy Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health, are in agreement that more testing for coronavirus is needed for the economy to reopen, amid the pandemic. Now, two former Ohio Governors are helping with that effort in The Buckeye State.

DeWine Tuesday announced the formation of a coronavirus testing strike team, which will source testing materials from the public, private, and academic sectors, and expand testing ability in Ohio.

The team will be led by former governors Richard Celeste and Bob Taft.

As of Tuesday there are more than 13-thousand confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus in Ohio. Those infected range in age from an infant all the way up to a 106-year-old patient. The death toll in Ohio now stands at 557.
