Ohio's Coronavirus Numbers Continue to Trend Downward

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--New numbers on the coronavirus outbreak in Ohio continue to show downward trends for new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.

The latest figures Sunday showed 300 new cases, 31 new hospitalizations, and just 3 more deaths.

Over the last 21 days, Ohio has averaged 440 cases a day, 68 new hospitalizations a day, and 28 deaths per day.

Sunday's numbers on new deaths are the lowest for the state since the pandemic began, back in March.

Overall, there have been over 41-thousand cases of coronavirus in Ohio, with nearly 7-thousand hospitalized, and just over 25-hundred deaths.

The state is also showing a rate of infection below one, meaning that for every one person infected, fewer than one person also gets infected. Governor Mike DeWine says the R0 data will be released once a week.
