Nursing Home Visits Resume in Ohio July 20th

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--With the coronavirus the most deadly for the elderly, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine suspended visitations at nursing homes across the state when the pandemic started, and shutdown took effect. Those restrictions will begin to be lifted next month.

DeWine says visitations for nursing home residents can resume, in an outdoor setting, beginning on July 20th.

The Ohio National Guard is busy testing all residents and staff at all nursing homes in the state, and once that's complete, DeWine says the visitations can resume, once all safety standards are met.

As for the rest of the state, DeWine is concerned about the rise in cases among young adults, mainly aged 20-39, and in southwest Ohio, particularly Hamilton County, which is where Cincinnati is located, and in Montgomery County, with Dayton the major city there.
