COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--With cities across Ohio now taking steps to require masks be worn in public, as cases of coronavirus continue to increase, the Mayor of Columbus also issued an executive order to that effect.

Andrew Ginther issued the order, with increasing cases of coronavirus in the state of Ohio. Cases finally fell below 1,000 per day in ohio on Sunday, but are still above the 21-day average.

He also commended the mayors of Bexley and Dayton for taking action to mandate the masks in public.

The order in Bexley took effect on Friday, as did the order for Columbus. Similar orders also took effect in Grandview, Dublin, and Whitehall.
