COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The state of Ohio put Franklin County under a level 3 in it's color-coded coronavirus emergency system, requiring a mask in public for everyone over the age of 10. Even if the county drops to a level 1 or 2, masks will still be required.
Franklin County Public Health issued the emergency order Tuesday, which includes the county and the city of Columbus. Masks are required in an indoor public area, and in an outdoor area where social distancing can not be maintained.
Masks are also required when using public or shared transportation, or waiting for said transportation.
Children under age 10 are exempt from the order.
The order does not have an end date and will remain in place until it is rescinded by the Board. This Order does not amend, supersede, rescind, or in any way modify the orders issued by the Ohio Department of Health.
