COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Multiple sources have confirmed that Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder has been arrested, along with four other associates, in connection to a bribery scheme involving $60 million.
The US district Attorney's Office announced the charges Tuesday involving a state official. FBI agents were on Householder's farm in Perry County Tuesday morning.
Householder's political adviser, Jeff Longstreth, along with lobbyists Neil Clark and Juan Cespedes, and former Ohio GOP Chairman Matt Borges, were also taken into custody, according to ABC-6.
The scheme involved House Bill 6, the controversial bailout of the nuclear energy company in northern Ohio. That bill was passed last year and signed by Governor Mike DeWine.
Householder is in his 2nd stint as Speaker of the Ohio House.
