COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A day of changes at the Ohio Statehouse Thursday ended with a new Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The Ohio House Thursday met in the morning to vote to remove Larry Householder as Speaker, following his indictment on federal racketeering charges.

That vote was 90-0, with six members abstaining from the vote.

The house then went into recess, and House Republicans caucused to select a new house Speaker, opting to go with Robert Cupp.

When the house reconvened Thursday afternoon, the Lima Republican was elected to the post.

Cupp has been a State Senator and Ohio Supreme Court Justice in his political career. He says his first priority as Speaker is to revisit House Bill 6, which was the subject of the bribery and racketeering scandal that brought down Householder.
