Franklin County Drops Out of Level 3 Coronavirus Alert

Ohio Coronavirus Map, August 27th

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--For the first time since the state of Ohio instituted the color-coded system for tracking the spread of coronavirus, Franklin County is no longer considered at a "red" level 3.

Governor Mike DeWine indicated that key factors when it comes to the spread of coronavirus in the community have gone to a point where the county can drop to a level 2 "orange".

DeWine says there are now only 6 counties in Ohio that are still considered at a "red" level 3, the lowest number since the system was instituted.

Despite the lower level, Franklin County Public Health instituted a mask requirement for the county, even if the county dropped to a level 2 or even a level 1.
