Teen's Shooting Death Now Ruled Suicide

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Police say the shooting death of a teenager at a home over the summer, that was originally thought to be a homicide, was actually a suicide.

Columbus Police say 15-year-old Marcus Peters put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger, on a dare from a friend, back on July 11th, at the home along Gerbert Road.

Investigators initially thought it was a homicide because there was no weapon present at the scene, and there were numerous bullet holes both inside and outside the home.

The residence was the scene of a drive-by shooting just days before the suicide.

Officers say after Marcus was shot, others present removed the weapon and fled the residence without calling for help.
