Dr. Bruce McPheron Stepping Down as OSU Executive VP, Provost

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A popular figure on the campus of The Ohio State University is stepping down from his leadership role.

University President Dr. Kristina Johnson confirmed in a letter to students on Tuesday that Dr. Bruce McPheron will step down as the university's Executive Vice-President and Provost, effective June 30th, 2021.

The role serves as the university's chief academic officer.

Dr. McPheron has held the position since June 2016, and stepped in after serving as Dean of OSU's College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

He will continue to serve in that college, as a professor of Entomology, and has been a faculty member at Ohio State since 2012.

Dr. McPheron received his undergraduate degree from Ohio State, and received his master's degree and doctorate from the University of Illinois.
