COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Monday laid out new rules for visitors at nursing homes, and other assisted living facilities, during the pandemic.

DeWine says all facilities must now allow visitors when all safety protocols are met. A visitor must schedule a visit ahead of time, be screened when they arrive, and wear a mask.

Hugging is also allowed between a visitor and a vaccinated resident.

Visits can now take place in a resident's room, with 30 minutes allowed to visit.

As for testing, staff members will still be tested for coronavirus once per week, if they have been vaccinated. That number goes to twice per week if a staff member is not vaccinated.
