COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Governor Mike DeWine announced a new COVID-19 vaccine incentive program on Thursday, aimed at younger Ohioans eligible to receive it.

The "Vax-to-School" drawings will award 5 eligible entrants each a $100,000 scholarship, with 50 other winners getting $10,000 scholarships.

Details on how to register and other rules and regulations will be announced later.

DeWine says Ohioans aged 12 to 25 will be eligible, and the money can be used for education at a college or university in Ohio, a career or technical school, or job training.

Health officials have been concerned in recent weeks about COVID-19 cases in younger Ohioans.

Earlier this year, DeWine announced the "Vax-a-million" lottery, with five winners who received the vaccine each receiving $1,000,000.
