Intel to Build New Chip Manufacturing Facility in New Albany

NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Governor Mike DeWine on Friday confirmed what was previously reported about a major economic investment in central Ohio.

DeWine, Lieutenant-Governor Jon Husted and other local officials will be joined by executives from Intel, to announce a new $20-billion semiconductor chip manufacturing facility in New Albany.

The plant will reside on 32-hundred acres in Licking County, and will employ about 3,000 people at full capacity. Another 7,000 construction jobs will be created with the project.

DeWine said the factories plan to be built by 2025 and will have Intel's most advanced process technologies, and will help reconfigure the global semiconductor supply chain.
