Columbus City Schools' Mask Mandate to End March 8th

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The mask mandate for buildings and buses in the Columbus City School district will end on March 8th.

The district made the announcement Thursday, saying their updated policy follows new recommendations from the CDC, and recent COVID-19 trends.

The district will continue to stress current isolation guidelines, as well as the "mask to stay, test to play" recommendation.

Most school districts across central Ohio began making masks a recommendation, and not mandatory, in the last couple of weeks.

The CCS policy update comes as Columbus City Council is set to vote on Monday to rescind the city's mask mandate in indoor settings. The mandate for Franklin County was already rescinded.
