COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Columbus Blue Jackets made one of the biggest moves in the NHL Free Agency period on Wednesday, signing All-Star Left Wing Johnny Gaudreau to a multi-year deal.

The deal is for seven years, and just over $68-million. Up to this point, he's spent his entire NHL career with the Calgary Flames.

Gaudreau has scored over 30-goals in three seasons, and posted over 40-goals in the 2021-2022 season, for the 1st time in his career.

Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen said, “Johnny Gaudreau is a superstar in the National Hockey League, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome him to the Columbus Blue Jackets family. He is an elite player with great character that makes the players around him better. We are thrilled to add a player of his caliber to our group. This is an exciting day for our franchise, our fans and the city of Columbus.”
