CCS Superintendent Dr. Talisa Dixon to Retire

Columbus, Ohio (WTVN)--The Superintendent of the Columbus City School district, Dr. Talisa Dixon, will retire at the end of the current academic year.

The decision will be effective in June of 2023, and by then Dr. Dixon will have led the district for four years. The district went for about a year without a permanent superintendent before her hiring, after the retirement of Dr. Dan Good.

Dr. Dixon's administrative career began in CCS, at the former Brookhaven and Columbus Alternative High Schools. The school board initially hired Dr. Dixon as Superintendent in March of 2019, after she served five years as Superintendent of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District.

The move also comes after the board unanimously approved a three-year contract extension for Dr. Dixon, in February of 2022.
