Mayor Imposes Voluntary Curfew in Short North

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther is asking businesses in the Short North to close early on weekends, and is imposing a curfew in the neighborhood.

Ginther announced the moves on Thursday, as recent shootings in the popular area on weekends left over 10 people injured and at least one person dead.

The Mayor is asking bars and restaurants to close at Midnight, from Friday through Sunday, and those aged 13 to 17 are not to be out in the Short North after midnight on weekends.

Ginther also saying he will sign an executive order, requiring food trucks to stop operating in the area during the curfew.
