State average is 14 cents lower than a week ago
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --Columbus-area motorists saw a 16.6 drop in the average price of a gallon of gas in past week, according to GasBuddy.com's survey of 500 outlets in the region.
The statewide average of $3.56 is 14 cents lower than last Monday, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
Including the change in gas prices in Columbus during the past week, prices yesterday were 24.6 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 24.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
"For the first time in a decade gasoline prices are going to be lower at the end of March than the beginning", says GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
"The last time this happened was in 2003 when prices fell a nickle between the start of the month and the conclusion", DeHaan says.
