BROCKTON, Massachusetts (WTVN) -- A 10-year old Massachusetts boy got a visit from the cops after calling his mom's bluff--by calling 911.
Dan Davis didn't like being told to go to bed and told his mother, Shamayne Rosario, that he was going to call 911. She told him "Go ahead and call", and on his way to the bedroom he did.
He didn't hang on long enough to talk to anyone, but a dispatcher called the number back.
In a recording of the dispatcher's call, you can hear Rosario saying, “Dan, would you like to talk to the police?”.
The boy wouldn't come to the phone and despite assurances from Rosario that everything was okay, the dispatcher said they would have to send someone to the house just to be sure.
While the fine for a first offense of making a false 911 call can be $1,000, Dan probably got something a lot worse---at least for a 10-year old: he was grounded for two weeks.
