We didn't know them.
But we miss them.
We didn't know them. But we grieve for them.
They were someone else's kids, someone else's grandkids, someone else's nieces, nephews and cousins.
But they could just as easily have been ours.
There were someone else's teachers.
Someone else's mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts or neighbors.
But they could have just as easily been ours.
We're missing them all today and we never met them.
Despite this, we all have a chance to make a difference because of them.
We all have a chance to do something that will honor the memories of the students and teachers who lost their lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
No, you may not have known them but because of them you can choose to change your world for the better.
Treat people with more respect. Spend more time with your children. Be more compassionate and less abrasive.
Do something that will ensure these young children their lives were not given in vain.
For though you may not have know them, they are everyone and anyone's kids and grandkids. Everyone's nieces and nephews. Everyone's cousins and best friends and neighbors.
And we miss them.
