About Me...

For 21 years Dirk Thompson has been entertaining and informing people in radio and television as an Entertainment/Broadcast professional. Although born at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor he has resided in Columbus, Ohio for 17 years and officially became an Ohio State Buckeye one fall afternoon in 1996 when he was caught in the act cheering for Ohio State during a Michigan game.

Here in Columbus, Dirk has worked at a number of very familiar media outlets including WNCI, WWCD, WSNY, WUFM, Spirit Television and now 610 WTVN. When asked why he wanted to become a talk show host Dirk says, “Talk radio has always fascinated me. The fact that I am a news junkie 24/7 and staying up on current events is basically my hobby, I always knew that at some point in my career I wanted to make the leap to talk radio. It’s the most entertaining, informative and captivating format on the radio and the fact that someone can maybe learn something from my show, or even have their life changed is a real gift. So many people simply do not have the time to keep informed in our fast paced world. I view it as my responsibility to sift through the clutter and give my listeners both the truth and the information they don’t themselves have time to track down.”

Dirk and his wife “Mrs. Thompson” live on the city’s far Westside along with their 3 children, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 bird, 2 hamsters, and a tank of fish. They enjoy travel, and outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and geo-caching. Dirk also is a Marketing Consultant for 610 WTVN, Talk 1230 WYTS and all 7 Columbus Clear Channel websites. He also enjoys reading non-fiction and action-suspense novels.
