The plant of the week is a brand new flowering houseplant, that probably has the biggest flowers indoors, you’ve ever seen! It’s called MEDINILLA MAGNIFICA, or sometimes called Rose Grape, and this new indoor plant is showing up everywhere flowering indoor plants are being sold. And rightfully so; its one of the most elegant flowering plants you’ll ever see!
MEDINILLA MAGNIFICA is native to the
MEDINILLA MAGNIFICA loves a really bright area indoors, and filtered sun outdoors. It likes good even soil moisture, and high humidity for best results indoors. Once the flowers are finished, deadhead like you would any other flowering plant (cut off flower and stem just above the foliage), feed regularly and let it grow all summer. Exposure to cooler fall temperatures will help trigger this beauty to flower again next winter. And if it never re-flowered, it’s still a very cool looking foliage plant!
