Urban Meyer said he wanted to make sure the 2012 Buckeyes and the senior class were never forgotten. Now Ohio State is giving fans one last chance to whoop it up and remember the 12-0 Buckeyes.

Ohio State has announced a celebration for the Buckeyes, to be held on Friday, Dec. 7 at St. John Arena. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a skull session with the Ohio State University Marching Band starting at 6:30 p.m. At approximately 7:00 p.m. the program will start including comments from Coach Urban Meyer, several Buckeye players and the presentation of the Big Ten Conference Leaders Division championship trophy.

The event is free but if you're interested in going, you will needs a ticket voucher which you can get on the Ohio State University web site linked here. Students will need a valid BuckID card.

What Earle's Tailgate is all about

I'm a bit late with this but a big thank you to everyone who came out to last Friday's Earle Bruce Beat Michigan Tailgate. I'm proud that WTVN is part of such a great event that has become an OSU-Michigan weekend tradition. Not only did we have a wonderful time and hear a historic speech from Urban Meyer, but Lynn Bruce who organized the event, reports that $80,000 for the Earle and Jean Bruce Fund for Alzheimer's Research was raised. Awesome!

Coach Meyer's speech brought the house down. The emotion he showed when talking about his seniors put a lump in the throat of the nearly 1,000 Buckeye fans on hand. His passionate "Lets beat the (blank) out of Michigan" finish drew a roar could be heard up in Ann Arbor.

I've never had more requests via e-mail, Twitter or Facebook for a piece of audio than I've had for that speech. In case you were out of town for Thanksgiving weekend or missed my blog last week, click here Meyer   to listen to Coach Meyer's speech including the rousing finish.

I also wanted to share with you the reason Earle is so passionate about the Tailgate fundraiser and for finding a cure for Alzheimer's. Channel 4 did a special on Wednesday night on Alzheimer's and it featured an ad, with Earle, for Buckeye Home Care. It's posted below. You can see why Coach Bruce considers this such an important mission.
