With Braxton Miller down with a left knee injury (strained MCL) Saturday, Kenny Guiton did what he always does...win.
The Buckeye back-up quarterback threw for 152 yards and ran for 83 more in Ohio State's 42-7 blowout of San Diego State. In one afternoon, Guiton produced more total offense (235 yards) than he had in his entire Ohio State career coming into the game (224).
Urban Meyer indicated that Miller probably could have returned to the game, if needed Saturday--but it was never needed. It will be interesting to see what Meyer does at California Saturday.
Obviously, if Miller is anywhere near 100 percent, he's in but if he is unable to cut and move in the way that makes him so dynamic, do the Buckeyes go with Guiton? We should find out much more on Monday when Urban Meyer holds his weekly press conference.
