Two Friday night DUI checkpoints announced

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- The Franklin County DUI Task Force will be conducting two sobriety checkpoints Friday night in Westerville.

One will be on Sunbury Road, south of County Line Road; the second will be on Schrock Road, east of Cooper Road.

Both checkpoints will be manned between 7:30 p.m. Friday and midnight Saturday.

The Task Force also announced that it's launching its saturation patrols, starting Friday and continuing through the New Years' weekend.

2017's highway death toll, at 1078, is already higher than for all of 2016.

The Task Force urges those who will be consuming alcohol to plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements.
