Columbus among finalist cities for Amazon's "Headquarters 2"

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Online retailer Amazon.com Thursday announced the 20 cities that are finalists to host its second headquarters, and Columbus makes the cut.

The competition for the business is intense.  The company is talking about an investment of $5 billion in the new headquarters, insisting that it will be more than a "satellite" office.

Amazon says the headquarters could employ as many as 50-thousand in and around the host city.

In a release, Amazon says it will be working with representatives in each of the final 20 to "dive deeper into their proposals and evaluate the feasibility of a future partnership.

A final decision is expected later this year.
