Suspect Arrested After Leading Police Chase in Stolen Cruiser

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WTVN)--A suspect is now in custody for leading police on a chase, which at one point involved a stolen Whitehall Police cruiser.

Reynoldsburg Police put out a call to assist to officers in Whitehall with the situation early Wednesday morning, where 29-year-old Frederick Pace Jr., had rammed several cruisers with his vehicle before fleeing.

The pursuit entered the area of Fairway and East Main Street, where Pace abandoned his own vehicle and went into a nearby wooded area on foot. While officers were searching for him, Pace emerged and made another getaway in a stolen Whitehall Police cruiser.

Officers eventually used stop sticks to disable the vehicle along East Broad Street and Grant. Pace then tried to run again on foot, but was apprehended.

He was admitted to Grant Hospital for observation, and upon his release faces numerous felony charges, including Felonious Assault on a Police Officer, Theft, and Failure to Comply.
