Ohio Nursing Homes Ordered to Report COVID-19 Cases

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has issued a new order for long-term medical care facilities across the state.

The order requires facilities to report new cases of COVID-19 to all residents and family members within 24 hours of their confirmation.

The state will also keep a record of those that have reported a case of coronavirus, and that record will be public.

Dr. Amy Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health, signed the order on Monday. The state also reported nearly 7,000 cases of coronavirus in the state on Monday, with 268 total deaths.
