COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A Columbus City School teacher is now in jail for paying a teenage girl for sex.
60-year-old Robert Pea was arrested Wednesday at Northland High School. He is charged with compelling prostitution for the incident.
Investigators say back in June, Pea responded to an online ad and agreed to meet the 16-year-old girl at a hotel in Reynoldsburg. He paid $80 for the sexual activity.
The Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force assisted with the investigation.
Pea is a social studies teacher, boys bowling and golf coach at Northland High School. The Columbus City School District has assigned Pea to being at home without pay, while he remains in jail.
