Shooting at Mall at Tuttle Crossing Leaves One Dead

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A shooting on Sunday at the Mall at Tuttle Crossing left one person dead, and a suspect is in custody.

Officers responded to the mall just before 3PM, on a report of a shooting. The victim was found in a shoe store at the mall, and died at the scene. That victim was identified as 25-year-old Dontarious Sylvester.

The mall was put on lockdown as officers searched for the suspect. Police apprehended 24-year-old Tyrone Gray Jr. of Mansfield in the mall's parking lot shortly after the shooting. Gray is charged with murder.

Investigators say the shooting was the result of a confrontation between the suspect and victim. The incident is Columbus's 57th homicide of 2022.
