Two Teens Arrested for Fatal Shooting at Easton Town Center

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--One person died, and the popular Easton Town Center was put on lockdown, for a shooting on Sunday.

Police responded within a minute of the incident, which occurred just after 6PM in the plaza near Jeni's Ice Creams. Nearby stores were put on lockdown, and shoppers were told to shelter in place. That lockdown lasted for about an hour.

The victim was treated at the scene, and then taken to Mt. Carmel East, but later died.

Early Monday morning, CPD said two suspects were arrested. Both are 13 years old, with one charged with murder, and another with obstructing justice.

Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther urged parents to get involved in knowing where their teen children are going, who they are with, and what they are doing to help prevent gun violence.
